Employment Drug Testing and Screening

Why is employment drug testing necessary?
Many employers require applicants to undergo drug testing/screening as a condition for hiring. It allows the employer to assess [and potentially eliminate] certain safety risks, reduce insurance costs, avoid lawsuits and maintain a respectable reputation.

What substance(s) does the test look for?
The employee/applicant provides a urine sample, which looks for substances in your system that could affect your work performance. The standard 5-panel test looks for marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates and PCP.
